Intermediate Quantity Surveyor (Building)
Location: West Offaly
Projects: Educational, HSE Refurbs & Residential.
Projects: Offaly and the Midlands
Work Style: Based in Office - Hybrid Available

Optimize Recruitment, working closely with our client, a growing Contractor based in Offaly, who specialises in school refurbishments and new builds, small residential projects, and HSE/public authority projects. They are known for their commitment to quality and excellence in every project they undertake.

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in West Offaly. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing costs and ensuring the financial success of various construction projects. Working alongside a director, the role offers a create chance for career development and to join a rapidly growing and well-regarded contractor.

Projects are based in Offaly County and the Midlands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, estimates, and cost plans.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary project data.
  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Perform risk, value management, and cost control.
  • Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
  • Negotiate and procure subcontractor and supplier agreements.
  • Assess and certify progress payments, variations, and final accounts.
  • Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in the Irish construction industry.
  • Experience with school refurbishments and new builds, small residential projects, and HSE/public authority projects a significant advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Office, Quantity Surveying software).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
