Job Description

Our client is an established firm of consulting engineers who are currently experiencing significant growth and now seek a highly commercial FD/CFO.

This is a newly created role, reporting directly to the MD and leading and growing a small finance team. You will be part of the Executive Management team and contribute to the growth and culture of the business.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Oversight and management of individual projects and wider company finances

• Drive the financial planning of the company and projects by analysing performance, cashflow and risks

• Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems, including negotiating and approving departmental budgetary requests

• Oversight and management of all accounting and finance personnel, including working with Internal Compliance teams to ensure full and comprehensive internal and external audits are adhered to

• Ensure all internal and external auditing and processing requirements are adhered to

• Confident building team capability, and working across multiple countries and across multiple currencies

• Work with the company financial advisors to structure the accounting systems accordingly

• Develop the fundraising strategy and manage relationships with partners and investors, where necessary

• Deliver timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis

• Oversee and sign off financial analysis to make forecasts and report to upper executives and the Company Board.

• Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines in all relevant jurisdictions.

• Sit in the executive management team who are responsible for contributing to and setting the example for tone, company values and standards, and company culture.

• Take responsibility for managing a small finance team of 2 currently and then growing the team (initially 2 accounts/payroll staff and a financial analyst)

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Experienced FD/CFO with 15+ years working in a senior finance leadership role

• Fully Qualified Accountant with several years PQE

• Previous experience of working in the civil engineering sector

• Previous experience of managing large scale International civil infrastructure projects, ideally in Africa would be desirable

• Previous experience of driving/managing change and upscaling a high growth business
