Senior Director, MSAT This is an opportunity to shape and lead a newly forming MSAT organisation at a pivotal stage of growth. Reporting to the VP of Technical Operations, you will have global responsibility for the technical oversight and lifecycle management of commercial manufacturing processes across an expanding neuroscience portfolio. This is not a maintenance role. You will help define how MSAT operates, build technical capability, strengthen process performance and create the systems required to support products from late-stage development through commercialisation and ongoing lifecycle management. The opportunity You will act as a senior scientific and technical leader across a global manufacturing network, working closely with Pharmaceutical Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory CMC, Supply Chain and external manufacturing partners. Your remit will include:
- Establishing technical ownership and process stewardship across API and drug-product manufacturing
- Building a consistent approach to process monitoring, CPV, technical investigations and performance trending
- Strengthening process robustness, reliability, yield and scalability
- Leading technical transfer, scale-up, validation and commercial launch activities
- Driving lifecycle improvement across established commercial products
- Introducing digital tools, automation and advanced analytics to improve technical decision-making
- Evaluating new manufacturing technologies and equipment
- Building, developing and empowering a high-performing MSAT team What you will bring You will be an experienced pharmaceutical technical leader with a strong combination of scientific depth, manufacturing knowledge and organisational leadership. Ideally, you will have:
- 15+ years experience across pharmaceutical manufacturing, MSAT, technical operations or process development
- Significant experience supporting commercial products within internal and external manufacturing networks
- Strong knowledge of oral solid-dose manufacturing, process science, control strategies and product quality attributes
- A proven record in technology transfer, scale-up, validation and commercialisation
- Experience working with CMOs and global cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of cGMP, ICH requirements and global regulatory expectations
- Experience leading and developing technical teams within a matrixed or international environment
- A Masters degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related discipline Experience in operational excellence, Lean, Six Sigma, financial planning and the development of technical business cases will also be valuable.
