Project Manager – Laboratory Asset Replacement Projects
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Contract Duration: 12-Month Contract
Rate: €49.00 Hourly
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to lead laboratory asset replacement projects within a leading global pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation. This role offers the opportunity to manage the full project lifecycle of GMP-regulated laboratory equipment projects, working closely with Engineering, Quality, Validation, Operations, and global stakeholders to deliver critical business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead laboratory equipment replacement and implementation projects from concept through to commissioning, qualification, validation, and handover.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, risks, and resource requirements to ensure successful project delivery.
• Develop business cases, project plans, cost estimates, and execution strategies.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including Engineering, Facilities, EHS, QA, Validation, Procurement, and Operations.
• Ensure projects comply with GMP requirements, engineering standards, company policies, and regulatory expectations.
• Drive project governance activities through stage-gate approvals and reporting processes.
• Manage contractors, suppliers, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support commissioning, qualification, and validation activities for laboratory equipment and associated systems.
• Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring minimal impact on site operations.
• Deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within approved budgets.
Requirements
- Degree qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 3–7 years' Project Management experience within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device environment.
• Proven experience managing projects through the full project lifecycle from initiation to close-out.
• Strong GMP knowledge and experience working within regulated manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated Commissioning, Qualification & Validation (CQV) experience.
• Experience delivering laboratory equipment installation, upgrade, replacement, or asset lifecycle projects.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contractors, and stakeholder communications.
• Strong stakeholder management, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and drive projects with minimal supervision.
• Experience using project planning and budgeting tools such as MS Project and SAP
- Technology Transfer project experience.
• Biologics manufacturing site experience.
• Asset lifecycle management within laboratory environments.
• Experience working within a stage-gate project delivery framework.
