Junior Buyer

Location: Naas, Co. Kildare
Contract: Permanent
Salary: €30,000 per annum (approx.)

Overview

An exciting opportunity for a Junior Buyer to support procurement activities across ingredients and packaging. This role focuses on ensuring materials are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with business and regulatory requirements, while supporting new product development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Source ingredients and packaging materials from approved suppliers
• Support sourcing of new raw materials for product development projects within set timelines
• Maintain raw material trackers and workflows, ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and EU legislation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including NPD and Supply Chain to support project success
• Identify and mitigate supply risks to ensure continuity of supply
• Assist in cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Monitor supplier performance and lead times, implementing improvements where necessary
• Review forecasts and contracts, securing additional materials as required
• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and KPIs

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar procurement/buying role (food industry preferred)
• Experience in FMCG environment is advantageous
• Degree in Business or related discipline desirable
• Proven experience in sourcing and supplier management
• Strong negotiation, planning, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail with strong organisational ability
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change
• Customer-focused with a proactive and responsive approach

• Some travel may be required
• Must have eligibility to work in Ireland
