Production Planner

�� Ireland (Midlands) | Full-Time | Food Manufacturing

An established and growing food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Production Planner to join its Supply Chain team. This is a key role within the operation, responsible for ensuring efficient production scheduling, accurate inventory management, and on-time customer deliveries.

The Role

The Production Planner will develop and manage the master production schedule, balancing customer demand, production capacity, raw material availability, and quality requirements. You will play a critical role in driving operational efficiency and supporting profitable plant performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain the master production schedule, establishing production sequence and lead times

  • Ensure customer shipping dates are met in line with order requirements

  • Update and manage work orders within 24 business hours

  • Liaise daily with Operations to monitor production progress and resolve scheduling issues

  • Work closely with Quality to verify formulas, batch sizes, and compliance requirements

  • Generate daily raw material pull sheets for production

  • Raise purchase requisitions for raw materials and packaging materials

  • Monitor and maintain packaging inventory levels

  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Accounting to ensure accurate inventory postings

  • Conduct cycle counts of raw materials and finished goods

  • Support annual physical inventory and assist with internal audit processes

  • Review completed production batches to ensure yield accuracy and proper inventory movement

  • Maintain compliance with Food Safety, HACCP, GMP, Sanitation, and Food Defense standards


Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in Production Planning, Supply Chain, or Inventory Control within a manufacturing environment

  • Strong understanding of demand planning and forecasting principles

  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • High level of attention to detail and organisational ability

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
