Retail & Consumer Goods

Location: Croydon (hybrid working)

We are working with a growing retail and consumer goods business who are looking to welcome a Finance Executive into their Group Accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their finance career who has a strong academic foundation and is looking to apply that in a structured, data-driven environment.

The Role

This position sits within the Group Accounting team and offers exposure across multiple entities, giving you a well-rounded understanding of how finance operates within a larger business.

You will be involved in:

  • Posting journals and developing confidence around debits and credits
  • Supporting the month-end process across the group
  • Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations and resolving any differences
  • Working with data to analyse performance and identify trends
  • Supporting intercompany reconciliations and group reporting
  • Assisting with audit queries and maintaining accurate financial records

About You

We are looking for someone who has demonstrated consistently high academic performance and takes pride in strong results.

You will likely have:

  • An excellent academic record throughout, including strong GCSEs and A-Level results (or equivalent)
  • A minimum 2:1 degree from a well-regarded university
  • Candidates from highly ranked universities are often represented in the team; however, we are equally interested in individuals who have achieved outstanding results wherever they have studied
  • At least 6 months’ experience in a finance or accounting role (internship, placement, or full-time)
  • A clear understanding of core accounting principles, including debits and credits
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data (particularly Excel)
  • A thoughtful, detail-oriented approach and a genuine desire to learn

Why Join

  • A team that places real value on academic excellence and intellectual curiosity
  • Exposure to group accounting across multiple entities
  • A structured, data-driven finance environment
  • Study support and clear progression towards a professional qualification
  • A collaborative, office-led culture with regular in-person working
