Job Description

This is a newly created opportunity within the Manchester office of a well-established and highly regarded television production company producing distinctive, award-winning content for major broadcasters and platforms in the UK and internationally. With a busy production slate planned for 2026 across domestic broadcasters and global streaming platforms, the business continues to grow and invest in its teams.

The role sits within a busy finance function supporting ongoing production activity and day-to-day operations. It offers exposure to a fast-paced, production-led environment and would suit someone early in their finance career looking to develop their skills within a collaborative and visible team.

The Role

  • Process a high volume of supplier and freelancer invoices across multiple entities, ensuring accurate allocation to the correct company and production

  • Manage the purchase ledger, including supplier statement reconciliations, resolving queries, and investigating overdue balances, unauthorised invoices and credit notes

  • Prepare regular supplier payment runs and urgent manual payments where required

  • Act as the main point of contact for shared and production-specific invoice inboxes, ensuring timely and professional responses

  • Build effective working relationships with production teams to ensure costs are captured, approved and paid on time

  • Support the Production Accountant with prepaid card administration, float reconciliations and production-related finance tasks

  • Ensure financial controls and processes are followed at all times

  • Provide ad hoc processing and support to the wider finance team as required

The Candidate

  • Around 1 year’s experience in an Accounts Assistant, Accounts Payable or similar role, ideally within media, TV/broadcast or a comparable fast-paced, creative environment

  • Experience managing a purchase ledger and working with project-based accounting systems

  • Strong communication skills, with confidence working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders

  • Highly organised, adaptable and able to manage changing and competing priorities

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a resilient, flexible approach

  • Basic Excel skills, good IT literacy and the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes

  • Previous PMI experience beneficial but not essential
