Studying towards a professional accountancy qualification? Love TV & Film? This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is newly part qualified (AAT level 3 or 4, ACCA or CIMA) who is would love to build a career in TV/Production finance.   

The role will sit within an iconic TV production company known for producing ground breaking shows that are loved by audiences all over the globe.

This opportunity will give you the training and support by their established finance team, giving you the tools to take on the financial responsibilities for a slate of shows. You will work closely with the production teams and you finance colleagues to ensure the financial operations run smoothly throughout the production lifestyle.

To be a suitable candidates you will need to have at least 2 years finance experience within an organisation giving you a solid understanding of debits and credits and producing accounts to trial balance. You will be self motivated, possess a strong work ethic, be able to work in a fast paced environment and have a great appreciation for meeting deadlines. You will have great communication skills and a friendly, outgoing and approachable personality, being at ease with building good working relations with all levels of individuals. A genuine interest in TV & Film is also a must!

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the financial set up, management and compliance of productions within the accounting system
  • Forecast and monitor spend throughout the production lifecycle including managing expenses, credit cards/pre-paid cards and cash advances; ensuring these are accurately recorded for cost reporting
  • Support production teams with day to day financial queries and processes;
  • Assist with monthly payroll
  • Prepare intercompany recharges, ad hoc invoices and ensure correct payments are made
  • Prepare financial reports for broadcasters
  • Support the wider finance team with month and year end accounting

 

Candidate specification:

  • Part qualified AAT level 3 or 4 (or currently studying); ACCA or CIMA or similar will also be considered
  • Min 2 years accounting experience with a thorough working knowledge of debits and credits; with a basic knowledge of P&S, and balance sheets
  • Excellent attention to detail, deadline orientated and able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Good excel skills and an aptitude for systems
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills, easily able to build good working relationships
  • Ability to multi task, willingness to learn and self motivated
  • A genuine interest in TV
