As Finance Manager, you will play a critical role managing financial operations that underpin the business’s continued growth and success. Reporting to the Head of Finance, your role will be split approximately 50/50 between leading the client finance function and overseeing broader financial management activities.

 

To be a suitable candidate you will ideally be fully qualified accountant. Although relevant experience gained in a similar entertainment/media/ creative environment is essential. The company is preferably looking for someone with a client finance/accounting background from a talent management company but will also consider an individual who has led a team processing a high volume of transactions within the same industry.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support month/year end close, bank reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, group consolidations and annual audits
  • Lead and manage a small team responsible for the client finance/payments, with overarching responsibility for ensuring precise invoicing, commission handling, queries resolution and timely processing of payments
  • Ensuring full accuracy of VAT, withholding tax and act as senior escalation for payment disputes, invoice queries, and commission reconciliations
  • Act as the interface between the wider business and client finance team, driving meetings to discuss commission reports, unpaid invoices etc
  • Driving continuous process, systems & best practice improvements in client finance workflows, and driving any ad hoc projects to improve efficiency; delivery training as required around these
  • Managing UK payroll preparation, pension administration, and related payroll queries alongside senior finance leadership
  • Serving as a super-user for key financial systems including SAGE and Xero, leading on enhancements and training
  • Preparation of accounts and tax for SPVs and subsidiary companies

 

About you:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience
  • Proven background in entertainment finance, ideally with direct client finance/payments experience in a talent management environment
  • Experience managing and developing a small team in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong technical proficiency including a good working knowledge of accounting principles and the mechanics of VAT/withholding tax
  • Experience of working in a high volume transactional environment (SSC experience would be beneficial)
  • Advanced systems skills including Excel and accounting systems (SAGE, QuickBooks, Xero beneficial)
  • Great team player, detail-oriented, process-driven, and highly organised with a proactive problem-solving approach
  • Confident communicator able to work across teams, clients, and stakeholders with professionalism and clarity
  • Motivated to make a tangible difference by supporting a creative business’s growth through robust finance leadership
