A London based TV & Film specialist training & development organisation is looking for an experienced Head of People to join their lovely team.

This internationally recognised establishment offers a variety of courses for individuals with aspirations of working in TV & Film, covering all areas of the industry, providing key practical skills & exposure that is vital to future careers.

As the Head of People you will be responsible for the full cycle of HR management with accountabilities that include strategic leadership, talent acquisition & development, performance management & employee engagement and ensure diversity, equality and inclusion.  You will help to implement & drive organisation change and development, in line with legislative and ethical compliance whilst also embedding a collaborative and engaged culture, resulting in a happy, collaborative work place for all employees. You will work across all departments of the business to identify

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop, implement & continually evolve a People & Culture strategy that is people-centred and aligns with the company vision; fully supporting development plans whilst being able to scale ensuring compliance and promotes diversity, inclusivity and equality.
  • Map & manage the people related needs of the organisation; developing a clear understanding of the opportunities and challenges of each department and work wot leadership team to develop actionable initiatives, supporting cross-organisational working practices
  • Develop and lead on HR processes, policies, procedures and guidelines; ensuring consistency, inclusivity, impartiality and legislative compliance
  • Design and cultivate professional development strategies to implement at an individual, departmental and organisational level
  • Lead the design and implementation of a fair and effective talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain top talent;
  • Lead the recruitment, selection and onboarding process for all roles/employees;
  • Foster a work culture that encourages staff engagement through initiatives that promote employee wellbeing and welfare; advocating good practices that support the wellbeing of all employees
  • Ensure all HR systems are robust and deliver to organisational needs
  • Design and implement change management mechanisms to create positivity and empower all stakeholders to embrace change, company growth and development.
  • Ensure performance review systems are in place; ensure managers are facilitating a culture of ongoing performance coaching and are conducting collaborative performance evaluations and implementing appropriate performance improvement plans;
  • Oversee annual processes to assess employee pay, rewards & benefits, ensuring the organisation maintains competitive compensation structures & benefits programmes;

 

 

Candidate specifications:

  • Qualified to CIPD Level 7 or equivalent experience.
  • Educated to degree level in human resources management, psychology, or a business-related subject or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in a senior leadership HR and/or People and Culture role, comfortable coaching senior leaders on all people related issues.
  • Excellent knowledge of HR strategy, best practice, employment laws and regulations, accepted professional standards, policies and procedures, recruitment, engagement, cultural change, performance management, talent development strategies, pay, reward and recognition, wellbeing and welfare, learning and development, HR systems and budgets.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing people strategy, has led on successful structural and cultural organisational change projects, embedding HR practices that drive people and performance excellence.
  • Demonstrable experience in improving end to end HR processes.
  • Strong HR Generalist experience and willing to be hands-on
  • A commitment to driving equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging throughout an organisation
  • Leadership experience and able to demonstrate the ability to inspire, motivate and develop people
  • Experience of using metrics for driving performance
  • Exceptional communication skills with a natural confidence, credible and gravitas
