A leading Entertainment company is looking for an experienced, hands-on Finance Director to join the team on fixed term contract basis.

 

Known for their creative & entrepreneurial flair, this multi-faceted business has an excellent reputation within the industry. The role will join the senior management, playing a pivotal part in the business and requires a professionally qualified individual with extensive TV/Film/Media experience.

 

With a strong finance team in place, this position will be hands on and oversee company the finances, both operational and production, but will be more commercially and strategically focused. You will support the CEO, CFO & Senior Management team, providing strategic finance modelling and monitoring performance. You will be required to build and maintain strong working relationships with the Management team to ensure targets are met and appropriate projects are in place and effectively managed.

 

The successful candidate must have previously held a HoF/FD/CFO role and have extensive within the Entertainment/TV/Media industry. You will have a full understanding of technical matters such as complex funding mechanisms, Revenue Recognition, Forex, whilst also being very commercially & strategically minded

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a great business. Please note that this is a full-time role on a fixed-term contract basis for approx 18 months.

 

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Oversee the full finance team of direct and indirect reports
  • Oversight of the financial performance of the group
  • Provide advice and guidance on the financial strategy against business objectives, supporting the management team through planning and modelling
  • Develop & oversee the annual operating budget/reforecasts, risks, and opportunities to ensure the financial targets are met
  • Lead and develop direct reports, along with the ever-expanding finance team
  • Full oversight of the working capital, statutory fillings, tax credits, foreign tax filings
  • Fully oversee the financing and set up any SPVs
  • Business partner with divisional heads and stakeholders at all levels (both internal & external stakeholders)

 

The ideal candidate:

  • Must be ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA qualified with significant PQE;
  • Previous experience gained in Entertainment/TV or similar is essential
  • Proven experience of sitting within a senior management team and in aiding financial performance of a business
  • Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills;
  • Sound understanding IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Strong people management skills
  • Highly organised and have a high attention to detail;
  • Strong line management skills with the ability to build effective relationships with direct reports;
  • Advanced Excel skills;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels; and
  • A high level of professionalism.
