A London based TV & Film specialist training & development organisation is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join their lovely team.

 

This internationally recognised establishment offers a variety of courses for individuals with aspirations for working in TV & Film covering all areas of industry, providing key practical skills & exposure that is vital to future careers.

 

Currently going through a period of positive change, there is a need for a Finance Manager to join the team to manage all aspects of organisations finances from ledger management & bookkeeping through to working with the senior management on the finance strategy of the establishment.

This is a standalone role that requires an experienced individual who has ideally had exposure to working in a creative environment, a higher education institution or similarly transferable environment.

 

To be a suitable individual you will need to have a solid background in finance and a proven ability to undertake a varied role and be driven to delivery the accounts in a timely and accurate manner. You will possess a good budgeting, forecasting & strategic management skills, whilst also being prepared to roll your sleeves up and manage the ledgers, complete month & year end tasks and ensure regulatory compliance.

 

You be an excellent communicator, have a positive attitude that easily fosters great working relationships, be able to affect change and positively influencing others! You will be analytically minded and thrive in a busy, sole role that will allow you to have oversight into all aspects. The ultimate goal is to ensure the financial sustainability through financial stability and supporting the organisations visions, values and aspirations.

 

If you have professional qualifications it would be beneficial but proven ability and a great personality is a must!

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Full responsibility for producing the month end accounts, duties to include: balance sheets, P&L, variance, accruals & prepayments
  • Financial forecast, budget and reporting including cashflow management
  • Maintenance & reconciliation of the accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger; tracking all transactions
  • Working closely with the senior management on financial strategic planning and implementation
  • Fully manage the payroll, pensions and associated taxes, ensuring compliance
  • Manage the tax liabilities of the organisation, including exemptions/obligations
  • Oversee internal & external audits
  • Financial analysis as required to assist with business decisions
  • Consistently look to develop and improve financial processes, controls and procedures
  • Support good practices around the organisation through a collaborative approach

 

Candidate requirements:

  • Previous relevant experience ideally gained within a creative environment
  • Proven financial management, financial analysis, and budgeting skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to vary your approach to your audience
  • Solid interpersonal skills, great collaborative team player and able to easily build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Knowledge of the UK tax laws, and UK GAAP
  • Highly proficient in using financial software & tools, along with strong Excel skills
  • Professional accounting qualifications are highly desirable
  • Self motivated, able to take ownership and deliver within set timeframes
  • Able to drive change and influence others
  • Great attention to detail, takes pride in your work and always strives to deliver work to a high standard
