MAT Recruitment is working with a secondary academy in Darwen to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Maths Teacher for a January 2027 start.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Maths Teacher who brings energy, enthusiasm and strong subject knowledge into the classroom. Someone who understands that great teaching isn't just about delivering the curriculum, but about building relationships, encouraging curiosity and helping pupils develop the confidence to tackle challenges.

You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact, supporting pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 and helping them develop the mathematical knowledge and skills they need for their next steps.

What You'll Be Doing

• Planning and delivering engaging, challenging and well-structured Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.

• Making mathematical concepts accessible to learners with a wide range of abilities.

• Creating a positive learning environment where pupils feel supported, motivated and ready to achieve.

• Using assessment and feedback to identify gaps in understanding and drive progress.

• Developing strong relationships with pupils and maintaining high expectations for behaviour and achievement.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues to share ideas, resources and effective teaching strategies.

• Helping pupils recognise that Maths is more than just numbers on a page!

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Experience teaching Maths within a secondary school setting.

• Strong curriculum knowledge and a genuine passion for the subject.

• The ability to engage, challenge and inspire pupils of different abilities.

• Effective behaviour management and classroom organisation.

• A positive, resilient and enthusiastic approach to teaching.

• A commitment to supporting pupils academically and personally.
