MAT Recruitment is supporting a school in Tottenham to appoint an experienced HR Advisor on a one-year fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident HR generalist with previous school-based experience. You will play a key role in supporting staff and senior leaders across the full employee lifecycle, providing practical, professional and reliable HR advice in a busy education setting.

The role

As HR Advisor, you will support a broad range of day-to-day HR activity, including:

• Providing first-line HR advice to staff and managers on policies, procedures and employee relations matters
• Supporting recruitment, safer recruitment, onboarding and pre-employment checks
• Preparing contracts, variation letters and other employment documentation
• Managing absence, sickness and return-to-work processes
• Supporting disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance-management procedures
• Maintaining accurate personnel records, HR systems and confidential employee files
• Working closely with payroll and external HR providers where required
• Ensuring HR processes remain compliant with employment legislation, school policies and safeguarding requirements

About you

To be successful, you will need:

• Previous HR experience within a school or education setting
• Strong HR generalist knowledge, including employee relations and recruitment
• Excellent organisation, communication and prioritisation skills
• The ability to handle sensitive information professionally and confidentially
• A proactive, approachable manner and the confidence to build positive relationships with staff at all levels
• The right to work in the UK

This is a full-time, all-year-round position, offering a salary in the region of £30,000–£38,000 depending on experience.
