Job Description

MAT Recruitment is recruiting an experienced and engaging English Teacher on behalf of a specialist online education provider supporting children and young people with SEND.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and would enjoy working with young people who may not thrive within a traditional classroom environment.

The provision delivers high-quality, personalised online education through small-group teaching, enabling teachers to adapt lessons around individual needs, abilities and starting points.

The Role

You will deliver engaging and accessible English lessons to secondary-aged learners, supporting students working towards appropriate qualifications while helping them build confidence and re-engage with education.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a strong and confident English practitioner
• Holds QTS or has significant relevant teaching experience
• Can teach English to secondary-aged learners, including qualification-level study
• Can differentiate effectively for a range of SEND and additional needs
• Is patient, adaptable and able to build positive relationships with learners
• Can create engaging and interactive lessons within an online environment
• Has strong safeguarding awareness
• Has SEND experience or a genuine interest in specialist education

Previous online teaching experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

This is more than traditional classroom teaching delivered through a screen. The provision has been designed specifically to support young people who require a more individualised and flexible approach to education.

The successful teacher will benefit from small-group teaching, the opportunity to really understand individual learners and a supportive approach where academic progress, engagement and wellbeing are equally valued.

The school is looking to appoint as soon as possible and will consider both temporary and permanent candidates depending on experience, quality and individual circumstances.
