We’re proud to be supporting a school in Blackburn in their search for an inspiring Science Technician  to join their team. You’ll have the opportunity to teach Key Stages 3 and 4 and make a genuine difference in a setting that celebrates curiosity, inclusion, and ambition.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Prepare, set up, and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Ensure all laboratory activities comply with health and safety regulations, including risk assessments, safe storage of chemicals, and disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Support teachers and students during practical experiments by providing technical assistance and guidance on equipment usage.
  • Clean, service, and maintain laboratory apparatus and facilities to ensure a safe, organised, and effective learning environment.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels, ordering and organising scientific equipment, chemicals, and consumable resources as required.

 

About You
  • A relevant qualification in Laboratory Science, Applied Science

  • Previous experience working in a laboratory, educational setting, or technical support role.
  • Knowledge of laboratory health and safety procedures, including COSHH and safe handling/storage of chemicals
  • Experience preparing, maintaining, and managing laboratory equipment, chemicals, and scientific resources for practical experiments.
