 seeking an exceptional practitioner to join a secondary school setting based in Blackburn/ Darwen, with a clear and powerful mission: to ensure thatstudents arrive in Year 7 ready to thrive.

This is a unique and rewarding role, perfectly suited to a primary specialist who understands the critical importance of curriculum readiness, phonics, and reading development and who wants to apply that expertise where it can have the greatest impact.

You will work at the vital intersection between Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, supporting students who require additional help to access the secondary curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

  • Assess pupil progress and use data to inform teaching strategies

  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to meet individual needs

  • Contribute to school life beyond the classroom, including enrichment activities and events

  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with school and national expectations

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant degree.

  • Proven track record of raising attainment and engaging learners.

  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of current pedagogy.

  • Commitment to professional development and inclusive practice.
