We’re excited to be working with a thriving school in that is looking for a talented and driven English Lead Practitioner to join their leadership team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the English department while also contributing to whole-school improvement.
You will oversee curriculum planning, teaching quality, staff development, and student outcomes within the English faculty, ensuring your subject is delivered to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the English Department.
- Raise and maintain standards across the faculty, as well as raising the profile of the faculty within the academy.
- Plan high quality lessons and lead the delivery of consistently good and outstanding teaching and learning opportunities.
- Carry out the day-to-day duties of a classroom teacher.
- To strategically plan for the development of the following areas demonstrating impact of these on learning and progress of pupils
- Create and engaging environment for learners of all abilities
- To narrow the gaps in the achievement of all groups of learners through:
- Implementing and managing an appropriate assessment strategy
- Ensuring a curriculum which facilitates the progress of all learners
- Ensuring responsive interventions across English
As part of an on-going review of monitoring of student progress, you have three core roles within the faculty:
- Making judgements about the standards of students achievement.
- Evaluating all aspects of teaching and learning and setting priorities for improvement across the faculty.
- Leading sustainable improvement by identifying targets for improvement, by developing and leading strategies to achieve these targets and by quality assuring the delivery of the curriculum.
You will be joining a strong and supportive team. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player, who narrows the gaps in the achievement of all groups of learners through implementing high quality teaching which directly impacts upon pupil progress. Including a curriculum which facilities the progress of all learners to ensure responsive interventions across the subject.
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant degree.
- Experienced educator
- Proven track record of raising attainment and engaging learners.
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of current pedagogy.
- Commitment to professional development and inclusive practice.
