 We are supporting a high-performing secondary school to appoint a Director of Learning for Mathematics. This is a key leadership role for an ambitious and driven individual ready to shape the direction of Maths across the school and make a lasting impact on outcomes.

The Opportunity:
You will lead the strategic development of Mathematics, driving high standards of teaching, learning and achievement. Working closely with senior leaders, you will play a central role in improving outcomes, developing staff and embedding a culture of excellence across the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Maths curriculum to ensure strong progression and outcomes for all pupils
  • Drive improvements in teaching and learning through coaching, support and high expectations
  • Use data intelligently to identify gaps and implement targeted interventions
  • Line manage and develop staff, building a strong and cohesive team
  • Monitor performance and hold accountability for standards across the department
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement priorities and wider leadership

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and strong subject expertise in Mathematics
  • Proven track record of leadership within a Maths department
  • Experience of raising attainment and improving progress at GCSE (A Level desirable)
  • Skilled in coaching, developing and leading others
  • Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment and data-driven improvement
  • A visible, credible leader who can build trust and drive change
