We’re looking for a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant in Burnley to join a school that prioritises behaviour, respect, and student wellbeing. This is a pivotal role for someone who wants to support individual learners while helping shape a calm and positive school culture.

In this role, you will:

  • Work with individuals and small groups to remove barriers to learning

  • Help students develop routines, focus, and resilience

  • Support classroom delivery and contribute to behaviour management

  • Play a key part in building positive student relationships and promoting personal growth

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to individual students and small groups to help them access learning and achieve their potential

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment

  • Support students with additional needs

  • Help prepare learning materials and resources under the direction of teaching staff

  • Contribute to the monitoring and recording of student progress, behaviour, and wellbeing

  • Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers to support holistic development

  • Uphold school policies on safeguarding, equality, and behaviour at all times

About You:

  • You’re passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives and supporting their education

  • You’re patient, reliable, and adaptable, with excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • You can build positive relationships with students and motivate them to succeed

  • You have a genuine interest in helping learners overcome barriers and reach their full potential

  • Experience in a school or educational setting is an advantage, but enthusiasm and the right attitude are equally valued
