An inclusive and forward-thinking secondary academy rated "Outstanding" in Bradford is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Assistant to join their team. This is a key role focused on supporting positive student behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing. The successful candidate will work proactively with students, families, and staff to promote a safe and respectful learning environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in making positive choices around behaviour, attendance, and punctuality
  • Apply consistent routines and restorative approaches to improve student outcomes
  • Actively contribute to early intervention strategies for students at risk of disaffection
  • Maintain accurate records of interventions, student contact, and progress
  • Work closely with staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to address student needs
  • Facilitate the reintegration of students following absence or exclusion
  • Support academy routines including supervision at key times and during events
  • Enforce uniform, punctuality, and behaviour policies in line with academy expectations
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of all students

Requirements:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
  • Strong ICT and administrative skills
  • Experience supporting young people in an educational or pastoral capacity
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, attendance improvement strategies, and behaviour management
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and adults alike
  • Committed to restorative and relational practices
  • Resilient, professional, and passionate about improving the life chances of young people
