MAT Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a values-led multi-academy trust in the appointment of a School Finance Partner.

Working as part of a central finance function, the postholder will support a group of schools, acting as a key financial partner to Headteachers and senior leaders. This role is due to begin as soon as possible.

The role will involve:

• Producing monthly management accounts and forecasts
• Supporting annual budgets and three-year financial planning
• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and trust policies
• Providing clear financial advice to school leaders and budget holders
• Monitoring staffing costs, payroll and value for money
• Supporting procurement activity, capital spend and year-end processes

We are seeking candidates who:

• Are qualified accountants or bring substantial relevant experience
• Have strong financial management and reporting skills
• Communicate effectively with non-finance colleagues
• Are organised, proactive and comfortable working across multiple schools

Previous experience within education or academy finance is desirable but not essential.

Salary: £42,839 – £48,226
Location: Birmingham (central team with school-based working)
