Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and reliable Exam Invigilator to support overseeing A-level, T-level, GCSE and BTec Exams at a partner school. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth and fair conduct of exams, uphold examination regulations, and support candidates throughout the assessment process. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in education and teaching, providing valuable experience in a formal testing setting. This is a part-time role beginning from May lasting until July.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise candidates during examinations to maintain discipline and prevent misconduct
  • Distribute exam papers and materials accurately and efficiently
  • Verify candidate identities and ensure adherence to examination protocols
  • Provide clear instructions to candidates regarding exam procedures and time management
  • Monitor the examination environment, ensuring it remains quiet, secure, and conducive to concentration
  • Collect completed exam papers and materials at the conclusion of each session, ensuring they are correctly organised for submission
  • Address any issues or irregularities that arise during examinations in accordance with established policies
  • Maintain confidentiality of exam content and candidate information at all times

Qualifications

  • DBS on the update service (desirable)
  • Prior experience in teaching or educational settings is desirable but not essential
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly convey instructions and manage candidates effectively
  • Ability to remain calm, impartial, and professional under pressure
  • Flexibility to work during scheduled examination periods, which may include weekends or evenings as required
  • A responsible attitude towards maintaining exam integrity and confidentiality
