We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join a friendly nursery team in Wigan. This is a permanent, full-time position. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing high-quality care and education, supporting children's learning and development in line with the EYFS framework.
Key Responsibilities
Care & Education
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all children
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS
- Observe, assess, and record children's progress effectively
- Support children's emotional wellbeing, independence, and development
Safeguarding & Welfare
- Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene
- Report any concerns regarding a child's welfare appropriately
Key Person Responsibilities
- Act as a Key Person for a group of children
- Build strong relationships with children and their families
- Share regular feedback with parents/carers about progress and wellbeing
Teamwork & Professional Practice
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards
- Attend staff meetings, training, and supervision sessions
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement
Person Specification
Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (or equivalent)
- Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A caring, positive, and professional approach
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK
Desirable:
- Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting
- Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to train)
- Experience with observations and online learning journals
