We are currently recruiting an SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a small, specialist independent day school supporting pupils aged 6 to 16 with social, emotional and mental health needs and associated anxiety.
Located close to Chorley town centre, the school offers a highly nurturing, therapeutic and inclusive environment where pupils are supported to rebuild confidence, regulate emotions and re engage with learning. Class sizes are small, and teaching is tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
Assisting with the delivery of a bespoke, individualised curriculum
Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement in learning
Working closely with teachers, therapists and the wider pastoral team
Helping to create a safe, calm and structured learning environment
Have experience supporting children with SEMH, anxiety or additional needs
Be calm, patient and resilient, with a nurturing approach
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Be committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Have experience in education, care or youth work (desirable but not essential)
