Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Design Technician on behalf of a school committed to improving the Design departments and supported students in KS3, KS4 and KS5. This is a key role aimed at supporting a positive school environment to expand students creativity and design backgrounds. This is a permanent, full-time position beginning from January 2026.

As the Design Technician, you will be responsible for all design aspects of the department supporting teachers and students in lessons. You will play an essential part in providing structure and routine in the design departments to make lessons active and creative for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to individual students and small groups to help them access learning and achieve their potential.

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment.

  • Support students with additional needs

  • Help prepare learning materials and resources under the direction of teaching staff.

  • Contribute to the monitoring and recording of student progress, behaviour, and wellbeing.

  • Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers to support holistic development.

  • Uphold school policies on safeguarding, equality, and behaviour at all times.

 

About You

  • You’re passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives and supporting their education.

  • You’re patient, reliable, and adaptable, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • You can build positive relationships with students and motivate them to succeed.

  • You have a genuine interest in helping learners overcome barriers and reach their full potential.

  • Experience in a school or educational setting is an advantage, but enthusiasm and the right attitude are equally valued.
