Job Description

Are you passionate about languages and ready to lead a dedicated team in delivering outstanding MFL education? We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring MFL Lead or Head of Department to join a thriving secondary school in Chesterfield.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious teacher with a strong track record in Modern Foreign Languages (French and/or Spanish) to take the next step in their career. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the vision and strategy of the MFL department, driving excellence in teaching and learning, and ensuring high standards of student achievement.

The Role:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the MFL department

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in French and/or Spanish

  • Support the development of innovative curriculum planning and assessment

  • Lead and motivate a committed team of MFL teachers

  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to drive improvement

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A proven track record of excellent teaching in MFL

  • Experience of leading a team or contributing to departmental development

  • A passion for languages and a commitment to inspiring learners

  • Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills
