Job Description

MAT Recruitment is working with a dynamic secondary school in to appoint a motivated and forward-thinking Assistant Head - Behaviour and Student Culture . This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated leader to make a significant impact on the school's academic standards, student outcomes, and overall culture. This is a full-time, permanent role to begin from January 2026 - Salary-  L1 - L3 £49,781 - £52,301

As Assistant Head - Behaviour and Student Culture , you will play a key role in the development and implementation of strategies to ensure that all students make outstanding progress. Working closely with the Headteacher, you will uphold the school’s values and contribute to fostering a positive and inclusive environment that supports the success of both staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Headteacher in driving excellence across the school, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
  • Provide strategic advice to the Headteacher, promoting continuous improvement and informed decision-making across the school.
  • Lead by example, instilling a culture of accountability and high expectations for both staff and students.
  • Align systems and structures within the school to its vision and values, creating an effective and cohesive learning environment.
  • Present clear and accurate reports on school performance to governors, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the local community and external partners, enriching the educational experience and fostering collaboration.
