Job Description

Join a passionate team making a real impact on pupil progress within an all through school in Liverpool.
MAT Recruitment is seeking skilled
Maths and English Tutors / Interventionists to provide targeted support for Year 6 SATs and Year 11 GCSE preparation within all-through school settings.

Working across primary and secondary phases, you’ll deliver structured small-group and 1:1 intervention sessions to help pupils consolidate learning, close gaps, and build confidence ahead of their assessments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality intervention lessons in Maths and/or English for targeted pupils.

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate sessions that prepare students for SATS and GCSE assessments.

  • Collaborate with class teachers to ensure tuition aligns with the wider curriculum.

  • Track, assess, and report on pupil progress to inform ongoing intervention plans.

  • Create an encouraging learning environment that motivates students to achieve.


The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or have proven experience delivering school-based tutoring.

  • Be confident teaching across KS2, KS3, and KS4 in either Maths or English.

  • Have experience preparing pupils for Year 6 SATs and/or GCSE exams.

  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management and excellent communication skills.

  • Be passionate about improving pupil attainment and engagement.
