Please note the working pattern will be as follows: 5 days per week. Either 9.30am to 4pm. This role will begin week commencing immediately until February Half-Term
We are seeking dedicated and passionate English Tutor (with experience teaching the GCSE English curriculum) to support the academic progress of students for a dynamic school in Warrington. This role is due to begin immediately until 21st February, providing educational support to students of various ages. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and possess the ability to communicate effectively, ensuring that each student receives personalised attention tailored to their learning needs. Experience in special education is a plus, as we aim to create an inclusive learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one or small group tutoring sessions in various subjects, adapting teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
- Assess students' progress and understanding, providing constructive feedback and encouragement
- Develop customised lesson plans that align with the curriculum and address specific learning objectives
- Foster a positive and engaging learning atmosphere that motivates students to achieve their academic goals
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance
- Stay up to date with educational best practices and resources to enhance tutoring effectiveness
Requirements
- Must have experience teaching the English GCSE Curriculum
- DBS on the update service
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly with children of different age groups
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex concepts in an understandable manner
- A background in special education is highly desirable but not essential
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for educating others
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team when required
- Relevant qualifications in education or related fields are advantageous
