Job Description

An inclusive and forward-thinking secondary school in Bradford is seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced Alternative Learning Provision (ALP) Manager. This is a key leadership role with the opportunity to shape and drive a specialist provision that supports students with behavioural and SEMH needs.

This school has recently been graded as “Good” by Ofsted and is widely recognised for its culture of care, strong pastoral systems, and a commitment to ensuring every young person can succeed, regardless of background or challenge. The successful candidate will be joining a values-led, ambitious team with a clear vision for inclusive excellence.

About the Role

As the ALP Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage the alternative provision to ensure high-quality teaching and tailored interventions

  • Design and deliver reintegration programmes that support long-term student success

  • Develop strong working relationships with internal staff, external agencies, and families

  • Monitor student progress, lead on staff development within the provision, and support whole-school improvement initiatives

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential

  • Experience of working with students with SEMH and behavioural needs

  • Demonstrable leadership experience within a school setting

  • SENCO qualification (or willingness to work towards this) is desirable

  • Excellent communication, coaching, and organisational skills
