We are supporting a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Bradford in their search for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the educational experience of a student with additional needs.
The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will deliver tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with identified Special Educational Needs. Working in close partnership with the class teacher and SEND team, you will:
Adapt learning materials and approaches to make the curriculum accessible
Promote the pupil’s independence and engagement across lessons
Implement strategies to support communication, including speech and language needs
Provide ongoing pastoral support, helping to build emotional resilience
Monitor and report on progress to teaching and pastoral staff
Liaise with external agencies as needed to meet EHCP targets
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent
GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
Proven experience supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs, including behaviour and communication challenges
A clear understanding of safeguarding protocols and up-to-date SEN policies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
A calm, patient and nurturing approach
