We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Faculty Leader of Design Technology (Food Specialism Preferred) to join a progressive school in Bradford on a full-time and permanent basis from September 2025.

The successful candidate will teach Design Technology  across the age and ability range of the academy, delivering agreed schemes of work, and leading and managing staff and resources in the Faculty.

Your role as Assistant Faculty Leader of Design Technology includes:

  • Leading the DT team, with a focus on Food Technology where possible.

  • Raising and maintaining standards across the faculty, as well as increasing its profile within the academy.

  • Planning high-quality lessons and leading the delivery of consistently good and outstanding teaching and learning opportunities.

  • Carrying out the day-to-day duties of a classroom teacher.

  • Strategic planning for faculty development, demonstrating impact on pupil learning and progress.

  • Creating an engaging environment for learners of all abilities.

  • Narrowing the gaps in achievement by: Implementing and managing an effective assessment strategy; Ensuring a curriculum that facilitates progress for all learners and; delivering responsive interventions across DT.

Core Responsibilities in the Faculty:

  1. Assessing student achievement and making informed judgments on standards.

  2. Evaluating teaching and learning, setting priorities for continuous improvement.

  3. Leading sustainable improvement, identifying targets, developing strategies, and ensuring curriculum quality assurance.
