Job Advert: Science Teacher with SEMH Experience – Full Time (Temp to Perm)

Location: Bolton
Contract Type: Full Time, Temp to Perm
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

MAT Recruitment, a leading education recruitment agency, is seeking an inspiring and resilient Science Teacher with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) experience to join a specialist provision in Bolton. This is an exciting full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who require additional support and guidance.

The Role:

As a Science Teacher with SEMH experience, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored Science lessons to students with SEMH needs, adapting the curriculum to suit individual learning styles.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that encourages students to thrive.
  • Support students with challenging behaviours, using effective strategies to manage and de-escalate situations.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider school team, including teaching assistants and pastoral staff, to meet the holistic needs of each student.
  • Play a vital role in helping students achieve academic and personal growth.

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  • Have proven experience teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a track record of working successfully with students with SEMH needs.
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Be passionate about making a difference and committed to providing students with the support they need to succeed.
  • Be adaptable, resilient, and empathetic in challenging environments.
