Pastoral Manager (Maternity Cover)
Secondary School in Leek
Full-Time, Fixed-Term Contract

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

MAT Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a secondary school in Leek to recruit an experienced and empathetic Pastoral Manager for a maternity cover position. This is an exciting opportunity to join a school within a supportive and nurturing environment, where you will have the chance to make a significant difference to students' lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality pastoral care and support to students across all year groups.
• Work closely with Heads of Year and other pastoral staff to monitor students' well-being, academic progress, and behaviour.
• Lead and implement interventions for students with specific personal, social, and emotional needs, working collaboratively with parents, staff, and external agencies.
• Support the development and delivery of strategies aimed at promoting positive behaviour and improving attendance.
• Safeguard students and ensure the effective implementation of school policies and procedures related to safeguarding and welfare.

The Ideal Candidate will:

• Have previous experience in a pastoral or student support role, ideally within a secondary school setting.
• Be a compassionate and proactive individual, with a strong ability to build relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Be knowledgeable about safeguarding procedures and have the ability to respond appropriately in sensitive situations.
• Possess strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
