MAT Recruitment, a leading education recruitment agency, is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an SEMH Teacher to join a highly supportive Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Manchester. This role is perfect for a passionate and experienced teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you will:
- Deliver creative and tailored lessons across the primary curriculum, designed to meet the needs of pupils with SEMH needs.
- Build strong and nurturing relationships with pupils to support their emotional well-being and academic progress.
- Use effective strategies to manage and reduce challenging behaviour, creating a positive and safe learning environment.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including SENCOs, support staff, and external professionals, to provide holistic care and education.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, implementing interventions to ensure every child reaches their potential.
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualifications.
- Have experience working with children with SEMH needs, preferably in a PRU or similar setting.
- Be resilient, empathetic, and passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives.
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations effectively.
- Be adaptable and creative, delivering engaging lessons that inspire and motivate pupils.
