We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Headteacher (SENDCO) to join a Secondary School Leadership Team in Keighley.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the SEND provision across the school, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to support students with SEND, promoting inclusion and accessibility.
- Oversee the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Provide guidance and support to teaching staff on best practices for inclusive education.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEND and report findings to the senior leadership team and governing body.
- Liaise with external agencies, parents, and carers to ensure comprehensive support for students with SEND.
- Contribute to whole-school improvement planning and the strategic development of SEND provision.
Skills and Qualifications:
- National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL).
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO).
- Proven experience in a SENDCO role, with a strong understanding of SEND legislation and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and external partners.
