Community Teacher:
At Mat Recruitment, we are proud to partner with one of our valued schools in Northamptonshire to find a passionate and dedicated Community Teacher to join their dynamic team.
This rewarding role involves working closely with young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will deliver one-to-one teaching and online lessons tailored to each student’s unique circumstances, helping them overcome barriers to learning and guiding them back to formal education. Teaching will take place in community settings such as homes, local facilities, and other accessible spaces, ensuring a personalised and supportive approach.

About You
Qualifications:
- Hold a teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) or be open to working towards one.
- Degree or equivalent qualification, with at least Level 2 in Maths and English.
- A specialist teaching qualification in your subject area (desirable).
Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with young people with SEMH needs, delivering both one-to-one teaching and online learning.
- Strong administrative and organisational abilities, with the capability to manage student behaviour effectively.
- Demonstrable experience in a teaching role, ideally across the secondary age range, with a creative and adaptable approach.
- Proven ability to engage with parents, community organisations, and stakeholders to support students with diverse needs.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding, child protection, equality of opportunity, and inclusion within alternative education settings.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to connect effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with virtual learning environments (desirable).
