Job Description

MAT Recruitment is supporting a respected multi-academy trust in their search for a dynamic and strategic HR Partner for schools in the Brighton and Hove area. This is a permanent, full-time role where you will take the lead on delivering HR initiatives that contribute to the growth and development of both staff and students across the trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary HR contact for schools in Brighton, providing hands-on and strategic support.
  • Manage employee relations, including grievances, absence, and performance management, ensuring compliance with trust policies and employment law.
  • Collaborate with school leaders and the central HR team to drive HR initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, and staff development.
  • Line-manage an HR Advisor, offering support and guidance to help them develop in their role.
  • Maintain the Single Central Record and support safeguarding practices.
  • Assist with organisational change and development, offering HR expertise to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Provide HR advice and coaching to managers, ensuring they are equipped to lead effectively.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent professional HR qualification (Level 7 desirable).
  • Proven experience as a senior HR advisor or HR partner, preferably within the education sector.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience in managing employee relations and handling complex HR cases.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day HR operations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Salary: From £50,321 per annum
