Senior Authorised Person / HV Specialist – Long term contract – South of England - outside IR35 – Rate subject to experience – ASAP start date

I am looking for a Senior Authorised Person / HV Specialist who is authorised at 33kV or even better at 132kV. You will be responsible for working on the distribution networks, writing and executing switching schedules and ensuring that there is Safety from the System on a substation.

The client is a respected player in the industry helping support with grid connections and upgrades. They have a pipeline of projects and offer longevity as well as competitive rates (subject to your experience).  

Requirements

• Previous authorisations at least 33kV or preferably 132kV under one of the DNOs.
• Solid understanding of Electrical Safety
• Experience and a track record of switching on and up to 33kV or 132kV.
• Full driving licence
• The right to work in the UK
• Competent Senior Authorised Person / HV Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the team and subcontractors when required
• Issue safety documents and permits to work to allow workers to work safely.
• Cancellation of safety documents when works complete
• Operate compliantly under the clients safety rules
• Carry out isolations on the system for 3^rd parties to work
• Fault finding , trouble shooting and repair on the system
• Assist with the outages
• Supervise the Authorised Persons and other workers
• Issue limitation of access documents
• Switching on the HV networks at 33kV and 132kV
• Writing and then implementing switching schedules
• Issuing of RAMS documents
• Liaising between the DNO’s and the client
