The Role
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Ecologist with around 4–5 years’ experience to join the Cambridge office.
You’ll lead and deliver a broad range of ecological projects, manage survey programmes, support junior team members, and play an active role in client liaison and business development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead team members and manage aspects of team delivery
- Plan and resource ecological surveys
- Undertake a full range of surveys, including specialist work
- Produce high-quality ecological reports (including EIA and specialist assessments)
- Provide input to tenders, budgets, and project timelines
- Liaise directly with clients and address technical queries confidently
- Mentor junior colleagues and support their development
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety requirements
- Contribute to business development and client engagement
About You
Qualifications:
- BSc in Ecology or similar (MSc desirable)
- Associate member of CIEEM (progressing to Full Member)
Technical Skills & Experience:
- Proficient in PEA/UK Habitat Survey (including complex and rare habitats)
- Competent in a full range of protected species surveys
- Hold protected species licences (e.g. GCN, Dormouse, Bat)
- Excellent report writing and data analysis skills
- Good GIS or equivalent mapping ability
- Strong knowledge of UK/EU wildlife legislation and planning policy
- Experience across varied sectors (e.g. quarry, road, energy, industrial)
- Ability to review reports, guide junior staff, and contribute to template design
