Location: Manchester  – Hybrid (3 days office based)
Level: Senior
Salary: Up to £42k+ (DOE)
Bonus: £1,500 placement bonus if you’re referred by Talent Torch

Their Hydrology & Flood Risk team supports complex, development-led projects across sectors including housing, energy, transport, retail, and commercial.

The Role

We’re recruiting a Senior Hydrologist to strengthen the team. These are key positions supporting project delivery, technical leadership, mentoring, and client management. You'll report into the Director of Hydrology and work closely with environmental and planning teams across the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead client communication and liaise with regulators, stakeholders, and internal teams.

  • Undertake and review Flood Risk Assessments (Levels 1–3), SuDS strategies, and drainage design.

  • Deliver site walkovers, assess access, and prepare/review RAMS.

  • Mentor and supervise junior consultants.

  • Ensure all work aligns with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

  • Collaborate on multi-disciplinary projects across the UK.

  • Support Assistant Consultants and Consultants in project delivery.

  • Review and contribute to technical reports and proposals.

  • Manage small to medium-sized projects.

  • Approve junior team timesheets and monitor project progress.

  • Contribute to business development and client retention.

  • Work towards professional chartership.


What You’ll Need

Essential:

  • Strong experience in hydrology, flood risk, and SuDS design.

  • Great communication skills and a proactive, solutions-led mindset.

  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • UK Work Eligibility.

  • 5+ years’ consultancy experience.

  • Progressing towards chartership.
