As a Senior Environmental Consultant within the ECoW (Ecological Clerk of Works) team, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting clients through the construction phases of their projects. You’ll apply technical expertise across a variety of sites, ensuring environmental compliance, species protection, and practical mitigation measures.

Prepare and input into construction phase documentation.
Oversee on-site compliance with Environmental Management Plans and method statements.
Conduct site checks for protected and notable species.
Investigate and report on ecological incidents.
Monitor and advise on pollution prevention measures.
Complete and review ECoW logs and reporting.
Deliver toolbox talks to site teams and subcontractors.
Liaise with stakeholders, statutory bodies, and other organisations as needed.
Mentor and train junior team members.
Support project scoping, tendering, and management.
Ensure best practice in health & safety and biosecurity.
2–5 years experience in ecological/environmental consultancy with site-based roles.
Strong understanding of water environment regulations, guidance, and legislation.
Skilled in ecological survey techniques and mitigation design for protected species.
Practical knowledge of peat and surface water management on construction sites.
Degree or equivalent in an environmental discipline.
Full UK driving licence.
CSCS card holder.
Appropriate professional membership (or ability to obtain).
IT proficiency, especially in Microsoft applications and project management software.
Protected species licences are advantageous.
