Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 DOE

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Consultant to take on a leadership role, managing teams, driving business growth, and ensuring the highest standards of ecological consultancy. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in a company dedicated to environmental sustainability.

What You’ll Do

• Lead & Develop Teams: Inspire and mentor ecologists, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Drive Business Growth: Identify opportunities, secure contracts, and expand the client base.
• Oversee High-Profile Projects: Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest ecological and regulatory standards.
• Shape Industry Best Practices: Represent the company in the wider sector, sharing insights and contributing to ecological consultancy advancements.
• Ensure Compliance & Quality: Maintain adherence to current legislation and best practice guidelines.
• Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work closely with internal teams to provide integrated environmental solutions.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• A degree in ecology or related field with significant experience in ecological consultancy.
• Proven leadership experience in mentoring teams and managing large-scale projects.
• Expertise in ecological principles, legislation, and protected species.
• A strategic mindset with a track record of business development.
• Strong knowledge of protected species licensing and mitigation strategies.
