The Role

We’re seeking Seasonal Ecologists to assist with ecological and biodiversity surveys and assessments for a range of exciting projects. Working closely with the Director of Ecology and senior ecologists, you’ll gain valuable experience across the project lifecycle, from fieldwork to reporting.

This role is ideal for self-motivated individuals who enjoy site surveys and are eager to take on dynamic responsibilities. While the position is a fixed-term contract (April to September 2025), it could lead to a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior ecologists and project teams with ecological and biodiversity deliverables.
  • Conduct habitat and species surveys.
  • Support desk studies, consultations, research, data management, and analysis.
  • Prepare reports and assist in delivering high-quality outputs.
  • Help with team logistics (e.g., booking equipment, work planning).
  • Proactively participate in team meetings and contribute to efficient operations.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to undertake site work, including overnight stays if required (expenses covered).
  • Highly organised with strong prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Positive attitude toward health, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Developing commercial knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation/policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in ecology or related field.
  • CIEEM membership or working towards it.
  • Full UK driving licence.
