The Role:
As a Planner, you’ll support the dynamic planning team in managing a variety of exciting infrastructure projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your skills, gain hands-on experience, and grow into a key contributor within a nationally respected consultancy.
What You'll Do:
- Manage budgets and work in progress for assigned sections or projects.
- Build expertise in planning applications, appeals, and pre-application enquiries.
- Conduct planning appraisals and research.
- Draft and oversee planning applications and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
- Support engineers and architects in producing drawings and planning documents.
- Create fee proposals and contribute to new business generation.
- Engage in community consultations, public examinations, and committee meetings.
- Attend site visits and client meetings to ensure projects stay on track.
What We Are Looking For:
Essential Skills:
- RTPI-accredited degree or Master's in a relevant field.
- Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (or working towards it).
- At least 1 year of experience in the planning industry (public or private sectors).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client liaison skills.
- Strong project management and report-writing abilities.
- Solid understanding of the UK planning process.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in handling medium-scale projects or multiple smaller projects with complex features.
