The Role

As a Planner, you’ll support the planning team on a variety of projects while developing the skills and confidence to progress in your career. This role is perfect for individuals looking to solidify their technical abilities and grow into a leadership position in the future.

What You’ll Do

• Manage project budgets, work in progress, and ensure financial success.
• Conduct research, organise, analyse, and execute planning projects of varying scales.
• Assist with drafting and managing planning applications, appeals, and pre-application enquiries.
• Undertake planning appraisals and provide guidance to architects and engineers on planning submissions.
• Create fee proposals to generate new business and build client relationships.
• Lead community engagement, committee meetings, and public examinations.
• Negotiate positive outcomes for clients while maintaining communication with stakeholders.
• Attend site visits and client meetings to build a comprehensive understanding of projects.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

• An RTPI-accredited degree or Master’s in a relevant discipline.
• Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (or working towards it).
• At least one year of experience in public or private sector planning.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and client liaison skills.
• Strong project management and report writing abilities.
• Good understanding of the UK planning process.
