The Role

As a Senior EIA Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in driving successful infrastructure projects through Development Consent Orders (DCOs). Working closely with clients and a talented in-house team, you’ll provide expert technical advice while managing complex Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs). You’ll also mentor team members, fostering a supportive and high-performing environment.


What You'll Do

  • Lead multidisciplinary environmental input for DCO projects, focusing on EIA management.
  • Coordinate and review EIA Screening and Scoping Reports and Environmental Statements.
  • Collaborate with design teams to integrate environmental considerations effectively.
  • Manage resources, delegate tasks, and monitor budgets to meet project goals.
  • Provide advice on sustainability initiatives and carbon-neutral opportunities.
  • Conduct planning appraisals to evaluate site development potential.
  • Write high-quality reports with clear recommendations.
  • Prepare fee proposals and support business development efforts.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

  • A degree in environmental or related fields.
  • Chartered status (CIWEM, CIEEM, IEMA) or working towards it.
  • Proven expertise in providing technical advice on infrastructure projects.
  • Strong EIA technical and legislative knowledge.
  • Consultancy experience with excellent report-writing skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience mentoring or managing junior team members.
