The Role

As a Senior EIA Consultant, you will be a vital part of the project delivery team, managing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and providing expert advice on Development Consent Orders (DCOs). This client-facing role offers the chance to shape critical infrastructure projects while mentoring and developing team members to ensure delivery excellence.


What You'll Do

  • Lead and provide technical advice on multidisciplinary environmental inputs for DCO projects.
  • Coordinate the preparation of EIA Screening and Scoping Reports and Environmental Statements.
  • Conduct technical reviews of specialist chapters.
  • Collaborate with internal supply teams and design teams to integrate environmental considerations.
  • Manage resources, delegate tasks, and monitor project budgets.
  • Advise on sustainability initiatives and opportunities for carbon neutrality.
  • Conduct planning appraisals to establish site development potential.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality EIA reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Draft fee proposals with support from senior colleagues to drive business growth.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

  • A degree in environmental or related disciplines.
  • Chartered status (CIWEM, CIEEM, IEMA) or working towards it.
  • Proven experience providing technical advice for large- and mid-level infrastructure projects.
  • Strong EIA technical knowledge and up-to-date legislative understanding.
  • Multidisciplinary consultancy experience.

Desirable:

  • Experience mentoring or managing junior team members.
