The Role
As a Senior EIA Consultant, you will be a vital part of the project delivery team, managing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and providing expert advice on Development Consent Orders (DCOs). This client-facing role offers the chance to shape critical infrastructure projects while mentoring and developing team members to ensure delivery excellence.
What You'll Do
- Lead and provide technical advice on multidisciplinary environmental inputs for DCO projects.
- Coordinate the preparation of EIA Screening and Scoping Reports and Environmental Statements.
- Conduct technical reviews of specialist chapters.
- Collaborate with internal supply teams and design teams to integrate environmental considerations.
- Manage resources, delegate tasks, and monitor project budgets.
- Advise on sustainability initiatives and opportunities for carbon neutrality.
- Conduct planning appraisals to establish site development potential.
- Prepare and submit high-quality EIA reports with actionable recommendations.
- Draft fee proposals with support from senior colleagues to drive business growth.
What We Are Looking For
Essential:
- A degree in environmental or related disciplines.
- Chartered status (CIWEM, CIEEM, IEMA) or working towards it.
- Proven experience providing technical advice for large- and mid-level infrastructure projects.
- Strong EIA technical knowledge and up-to-date legislative understanding.
- Multidisciplinary consultancy experience.
Desirable:
- Experience mentoring or managing junior team members.
